I became interested in financial planning and wealth management as a result of teaching a stewardship class in my church in 1983-84. Became a registered rep in 1985, CFP in 1990. I joined Financial Network Investment Corporation in 1987 which ultimately became Cetera. My daughter Kristen, has joined me in our firm, DBA: Barca & Barca Financial Network.

I have been specializing in retirement income planning and implementation since 1995. Most of the wealth we manage is for retirees looking for a conservative to moderate risk portfolio where income is the primary objective. Most of my clients are advisory clients where we charge a flat percentage fee for assets we manage. Most of the portfolios will have individual assets with fixed maturity dates; those assets can be Ginnie Maes, senior notes, bonds, preferred stock, and some ETF’s and some high dividend paying stocks. We are active portfolio managers which means we monitor client portfolios and conduct annual reviews. Account registrations can be anything from IRA’s to Family Trusts, etc.

The minimum account size starts at $300,000 (there can be acceptations). Once you are a client we will assist your family with smaller accounts for/with your children (regardless of age). We have adopted the philosophy of “Wealth Management for Life”. We also have a saying that “panic is not an investment strategy”.
